      I really enjoy writing computer code to process loads of data really quickly.
      It can be frustrating at first but when it works, it can be very satisfying.
      I’m also quite proud of some of the songs I wrote with my band especially as I can’t really sing and I taught myself to play the guitar!

      A hexapod! My PhD was all about making a measuring device that could measure tiny tiny movements (like 0.1mm), but was only made of copper and one kind of plastic called Teflon. I made six of them and connected them all together with some electronics that I made. Because there were six of them, the whole thing together is called a ‘hexapod’. I also wrote some complicated maths and computer code to take all of the information from the six measuring sensors and combine it all together. It was really complicated, but in the end it worked!
